We left our vehicles at an altitude of 2,100 meters. From that point on, it was a hike undertaken solely with our backpacks and our dreams. Since we were to spend three days in the mountains, our food, camping gear, and photography equipment were quite heavy. Each step was increasingly tiring, yet equally exhilarating. Upon reaching an altitude of 3,230 meters, we were greeted by Büyük Deniz Lake and the Kaçkar Mountains in all their splendor. Witnessing that view made us forget all our fatigue. Towards midnight, the air grew bitterly cold, and the temperature began to drop below freezing. Between 11:00 PM and midnight, the Milky Way appeared in the sky in all its glory. That was the moment I experienced the joy of capturing this unforgettable shot. For me, this photograph is not merely an image; it is a memento of a dream realized through hard work. I have visited the Kaçkars many times, yet I have felt the same thrill with every single visit.
