THE RUGGED KAÇKAR MOUNTAINS AND AVUSOR LAKE My team and I set out from Trabzon early in the morning. After a three-hour journey, we arrived at the Avusor Plateau. We got out of our vehicles and packed our backpacks with the photography gear, clothing, camping equipment, and food we would need for the trip. It was still June, and a challenging camping experience awaited us, as spring had not yet even arrived in the mountains. Patches of fog were drifting across the peaks toward us, so the team began hiking in close formation. Although the trek was arduous, we were destined to camp in a magnificent location. Once we reached the site and pitched our tents, the trip proved incredibly rewarding for photography—an experience impossible to forget.
