Just as I stepped outside to check on the young people who had pitched their tents right next to ours for the night, dawn began to break. The torrential rain that had poured all night left behind a landscape that was soaking wet yet displayed nature’s colors in their purest, most enchanting form. I tried to wake everyone up, saying, "Let's go!" But Turan Bey was the only one who resisted the sweet pull of sleep. We stepped out together and gazed at the unique reward the Kaçkar Mountains had in store for us. Looking from the beloved Sal Plateau toward Pokut Plateau, we saw the Kaçkar Mountains standing in all their majesty, framed by a dance of mist...
