We arrived at the highland on the evening of a stormy, rainy day. After the tents were pitched, conversations about nature and photography began in the main camp tent. It felt as though the tent might not withstand the blowing wind; there was nothing I could do but hope the storm and rain would subside by morning. Despite the challenging night, dawn eventually broke. I was absolutely spellbound by the view that greeted me when I stepped out of the tent. The storm had indeed passed, so I roused the team, and we began taking photographs at 5:30 AM. The highland visible in the foreground is Sal Plateau, while Pokut Plateau appears on the ridge just behind it. Both are traditional wooden settlements accessible only on foot, with no roads, running water, or electricity. The Kaçkar Mountains, along with Hazindağı and Samistal Plateaus, can be seen in the background. Enjoy the view.
