The Kaçkars never run out of surprises... During our three-day expedition from Avusor Plateau to Kemerli Kaçkar, we saw the sun for only two or three hours. For the rest of the time, fog and clouds drifted over the mountains like a curtain. Just as we were beginning to lose hope, the clouds parted briefly. The lake stretching silently before us, the majestic Kemerli Kaçkar Mountains rising behind it, and the clouds adorning the peaks created an unforgettable scene. Those few hours made us forget all the fatigue of the three days. That is why I love the Kaçkars. You never know what they might reveal next. But if you are patient, nature will surely gift you a view you will never forget.
