Topkapi Palace Tower Of Justice
Description
The Tower of Justice is a structure located within Topkapi Palace. Rising adjacent to the latticed window on the wall opposite the first chamber of the *Kubbealtı*—where Imperial Council meetings were held—this structure served as the vantage point from which the Sultan could observe the council's proceedings. The Tower of Justice is regarded as an architectural expression of the sovereign's authority—representing justice and the ability to oversee everything without being seen.
