BÜYÜK DENİZ LAKE AND THE KAÇKAR MOUNTAINS At the first light of dawn, we headed to the Yukarı Kavron Plateau; after making our final preparations and shouldering our backpacks, we set off on foot. The weather was cold and the trek was long—how long, you ask? About 5 kilometers. After a long and exhausting journey, we arrived at the campsite, situated at an altitude of 3,150 meters. It was clear from the start that this would be a camping trip filled with unforgettable moments and plenty of photos—and that is exactly how it turned out. Despite the cold weather, we spent the night in our main camp tent, enjoying hot soup and good conversation. Another camping trip had come to an end, leaving us with wonderful memories and beautiful photographs.
